With lockdown continuing for the next few weeks and people urged to stay home as much as possible, you might be missing your favourite fast food fix.
But as with everything else, there’s a TikTok video that can solve that problem.
A culinary entertainment account, known as @saucedupfoods has shared their method for making hash browns just like the ones you get at McDonald’s.
And the best part is that the recipe only calls for three ingredients.
Speaking in the video, the cook says: “You will not believe these McDonald’s hash browns. They are literally three ingredients and so crispy and fluffy on the inside.”
She goes on to demonstrate how she made them, saying: “The first thing I did was used russet potatoes and peeled two for my recipe and I cut them into thirds and part-boiled them.
“That means you’re gonna partially cook them, so I boiled them for about eight minutes and let them cool and then grate and add one egg and a tablespoon of corn starch.
“Mix it in and shape on parchment paper and put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes, then fry them on high heat and enjoy.”
More than 3.1 million people watched the recipe video, with thousands taking the time to comment.
One person replied: “They look amazing.”
Another said: “You got this food looking good.”
“I love McDonald’s hash browns and yours are the perfect match by look,” wrote a third.
Someone else posted: “I’m for sure going to make this, thank you.”
“Oh wow, I’m definitely going to need to try this,” proclaimed a different user.
Others weren’t so convinced and thought it was quicker and easier just to order hash browns from McDonald’s, while some recommended also adding seasoning and onions to the mix if you were doing to make them at home.
